Trustpilot calculated Namecheap's score 2.7. The latest review – Ordinarily find my self on this site when I’m at my wits end with corporate p***take - so it’s a great thing that right now I’m feeling the need to heap some praise. Redux: I recently had the fun task of migrating 10 years of freelance client’s websites and updating the DNS record which meant I ended up in myriad control panels of different hosting / domain registrars my clients had used. Namecheap stuck out as having good clean UX and being genuinely helpful - maybe not the most radical quality to have, but at least heavily contrasting to the shoddiness and use of Dark UX I saw elsewhere (GoDaddy somewhere about the 7th circle of hell by now). Decided then to transfer the rest of my domains over to Namecheap - a process which would also be frustrated by the parallel process of shifting personal emails from Google to a less creepy provider (bigup mailbox.org). The last week then has involved a lot of head-scratching and logging into the Live Chat as I grappled with DNS records. Each person I’ve spoken to though has been an exemplar of not just helpful but informative. Can’t put praise on that more highly - when one chat window accidentally closed I got a nice follow up email explaining some concepts - same went for the chats. Whatever it is they’re doing they’re doing it right. Respect..
