Trustpilot calculated Secret Escapes's score 4.0. The latest review – Like all the other reviewers I am caught out by this company.We are due to travel on 26th April;the hotel is closed and the Airline, which I booked separately has cancelled my flights; in other words the holiday I booked with SE does not exist.I requested to travel at a later date over 2 weeks ago and received the standard response i.e. we will get back to you.I contacted the hotel-they are happy to offer alternative dates but can only do so if requested by the agent.Thay have had no such request from SE. I am in a catch 2 situation.If I cancel I loose my holiday money unless I claim from my insurance and of course loose my excess and SE get to keep my money, nice work if you can get or wait to hear from SE about alternative dates.No hope of that as they are in a win win situation.How can they just keep money and from so many people.They must one of the companies thriving in the current situation.I will never use them again.They don't even offer a credit or voucher and I am tired of the standard replies.I note that all the other complainants have received the same pro-rata reply, which indicates that SE has no intention of helping out or honouring any contacts.Every one has paid for goods or services that they have not received and as such SE is in breach of contract.No-one has chosen to cancel that choice has been made for then by other parties i.e. Governments so we have to comply. Their handling of this situation is unacceptable and I sincerely hope that all clients turn their backs and walk away putting SE in the same position that they have placed their "loyal clients" (their words) out of pocket or out of business (The Pointless exercise of entering a transaction id for them to reply will result in the same useless reply).
